A Somber (yet necessary) Journey

After S21, it is only natural want to know more, 

to feel pushed by the ghosts (both literal and figurative)
of history to delve into deeper understanding.

To know what happened here is to know the heart of all nations; the struggle and the pain, the reluctant hope.

This is not the only such field in Cambodia.
It is the most famous though.
 The Killing Fields hold countless intimate histories,
forgotten details; a history, forever blurred.

 As we tread on hallowed ground, a sacred memorial to all those lost. Not just here. Where once life bloomed, only naked skeletons a peaceful stupas rise. Hear the stories etched in blood in a page of history that can never be torn away. 

As we honor the memory, come what may.

 A journey of remembrance and respect.
To ensure such darkness (anywhere) is never resurrected.
